Welcome back! I hope
you had a wonderful Spring Break! I am
thrilled to be back with all of the Kindergarten students. We had a great day!
We started the day with some yoga to focus our bodies and
energy for learning. The students all
showed excellent listening and effort.
We talked about the importance of staying calm, breathing and thinking
good thoughts.
The students did some amazing writing in their journals
today about what they did on Spring Break.
All of the students demonstrated excellent effort in their writing
journals. The students were all engaged
and worked hard to do their best printing, spell their “popcorn” words accurately
and leave spaces between their words. They
did a terrific job. They were all very
focused. I am really proud of their excellent effort
and the best part is they are beginning to see themselves as writers.
Following our journals, we all had a snack break and center
time. The students were all excited to try out some new centers today. Some of the new centers include:
- · a doll house
- · puzzles
- · playdough center - to work on our fine motor and literacy skills
- · art center – today we used bingo daubers to practice our letters
The morning class ended the day with some skip counting
songs. The afternoon class enjoyed
playing our first game of hang man which was a great way to review our letters
and their corresponding sounds.
We had a fabulous first day together. The kids were all really excited to see their
friends and happy to be at school learning.
I look forward to seeing my Kindergarten friends tomorrow
and continuing our learning together.
Have a great night!
Warm Regards
Mrs. Lai
