Baby Fendley

Hello Parents,

Exciting news....Mrs. Fendley's baby has arrived !! Lincoln Carson Fendley is 7lbs 12ozs and 21" long. The students were all so very happy to hear the good news :)   So we took some time today to create and draw some beautiful cards for Mrs. Fendley.  The students were very focused and engaged in their special writing project.  

 

Something important happens when children write and receive letters.  They realize that writing has a purpose. In addition, sending letters will help the children become better writers, and writing will also help them become better readers.  

You can support your child's reading and writing at home by: 

• Outside the home, point out traffic, store, and restaurant signs - literacy on the go! 
• Reading a recipe and cooking together
• Reading flyers together, have your child help print out the shopping list 
• Read and write greeting cards, thank you notes or emails to family & friends
• Making regular visits to the Calgary Public Library
