Hello Kindergarten Parents,
I wanted to give you an update on what has been happening in the classroom.
On Monday morning, the school had a Fire Drill. The morning class, did an amazing job remembering the rules and procedures!!! I was so proud of them. They have shown tremendous growth and improvement from our last fire drill a few weeks ago. Thank so much for your help and support.
Thursday afternoon, the afternoon class did a wonderful job at the assembly. Everyone showed excellent effort and participation sharing our songs at the Celebration of Learning. Thank you to all of the families who were able to join us for the assembly. We were excited to share some songs with you :)
Both morning and afternoon classes, have been learning some important information about personal body space. We have discovered that everyone has a "personal bubble" and that we shouldn't pop someone's bubble. We have been working hard to be more respectful of personal body space in our classroom.
We were fortunate to have some lovely spring weather last week. As part of our transition plans for grade 1, when the weather permits we will be taking the students outside for a little "Recess" break. Together as a class, we go outside to where the big grade one kids have their recess break so they get use to seeing their outside space for next year. In addition, recess provides an important time for students to have the opportunity to share outdoor toys and practice problem solving with their peers. I stay with the class the entire time wearing my supervision vest. The students always know that if they have a concern they are to always find the teacher on yard duty for help.
Hope you're all having a great long weekend!
Warm Regards,
Mrs. Lai
